Job Title: Cafe Manager

As a Cafe Manager, you will be passionate about delivering the highest level of service to all guests and club members. You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the F&B operations in the resort Cafe, ensuring a high standard of service and providing a fine dining, relaxing, and comfortable experience to all guests. You will support the F&B Assistant Manager and Supervisors in ensuring effective management on the floor, and that the team is fully trained in all aspects of the café and conference venues, ensuring each service runs smoothly.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the department.
  2. Establishing and maintaining high standards of professional service in the café & Terrace areas, including cleanliness and overall presentation of the café, Terrace, and Mansion House areas within the resort.
  3. Recruiting, managing, inducting, training, and developing all café staff to meet Champneys' high standards, including conducting staff appraisals, probation reviews, and hearings as required, in line with company policies. Monitoring absence rates, conducting return-to-work interviews, and liaising with HR regarding absence or sickness issues.
  4. Managing the profitability of the department.
  5. Developing professional relationships with guests and members.
  6. Handling escalated guest comments and resolving issues according to company procedures.
  7. Ensuring a full shift handover is completed.
  8. Ensuring dietary sheets are provided for guests with specific requirements.
  9. Monitoring and managing the financial performance of the department, including costs, on a monthly basis and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
