Job summary

Rolls-Royce Submarines in Derby is seeking a Controls and Instrumentation Engineer to design and implement C&I aspects of new submarine factory facilities. The role covers requirements capture through commissioning and handover to operations.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Electrical, Electronic, Controls or C&I.
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards it.
• Experience designing safety-critical products and systems.
• Awareness of IEC 60880 and IEC 61508 and nuclear sector constraints.

Responsibilities

• Ensure facility designs are safe and conform to relevant legislation.
• Provide C&I support across the design lifecycle for bespoke factory systems.
• Act as intelligent customer for C&I in supply chain and with design partners.
• Ensure proposals satisfy design intent and safety regulations.
• Coordinate verification and validation activities for C&I equipment.
