BAE Systems is seeking a Principal Engineer - Electrical Engineering (Control and Instrumentation) to design and deliver submarine C&I systems for the Dreadnought programme. You will lead complex electrical design and system integration, ensuring safety, reliability and compliance across the lifecycle.

You will work with the PMSC&I team to provide technical guidance, review supplier testing, manage risks and support assurance activities while complying with security and export controls.

Competenze

• Experience in large-scale electrical, electronic, control and instrumentation (C&I) systems.
• Strong knowledge of Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and engineering design lifecycle.
• Ability to review design, equipment and test documents including schematics and data.
• Experience witnessing supplier testing and assessing delivery/acceptance criteria.

• Validate engineering assumptions, data, analysis methodologies and results through review and audit.
• Provide evidence and support for qualification, legislative requirements, safety justifications and assurance activities.
• Identify and rapidly resolve issues across the product lifecycle and manage change activities.
• Liaise with internal customers to understand, support and incorporate requirements.
• Manage external supplier delivery including build, test, change and queries.
• Provide day-to-day technical guidance for junior team members.
• Define qualification obligations for assurance hold points and create recovery plans.
• Support design assurance and safety case documentation complying with Quality, HS&E systems and procedures.
