C&I Engineer – Nuclear Submarine Systems

Rolls-Royce Submarines is seeking a Controls and Instrumentation Engineer to help design and implement C&I facilities at a nuclear licensed site in Derby. You will support the entire bespoke C&I facility design from requirements capture through to commissioning and handover to operations.

The role requires ensuring designs are safe and compliant with UK legislation, coordinating with internal and external supply chains, and acting as an intelligent customer for C&I matters across the project

Qualifications

• Professional engineer with degree in Electrical, Electronic, Controls or C&I Systems Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer or affiliate/associate with relevant body, or working toward status.
• Experience designing safety-critical products and systems.
• Awareness of safety-critical development constraints and relevant safety standards (IEC 60880, IEC 61508).
• Understanding of design lifecycle from scoping through delivery.
• Ability to produce clear, concise technical reports.
• Knowledge of control system network architecture on large factory systems.
• Experience designing C&I for process plants and/or factory equipment.
• Experience in nuclear, oil & gas, pharma or chemical processing industries.

Responsabilités

• Ensuring facility designs are safe and conform to relevant legislation.
• Providing C&I support for design lifecycle of bespoke systems and machines.
• Acting as intelligent customer for C&I matters with supply chain and design partners.
• Facilitating commonality of C&I artifacts, principles and standards across the project.
• Authoring technical reports to a professional standard.
• Extracting, creating and maintaining technical requirements and verification/validation activities.
• Ensuring C&I solutions meet project and safety requirements.
• Working with project management to maintain schedules, risks, and resources.
