C&I Engineer for Nuclear Projects

Job summary

Amentum is building the Control & Instrumentation capability within the PPP for Sellafield projects. We seek C&I engineers to join the team in Birchwood or Cumbria, with roles starting later this year or early 2027.

You will provide design support across project phases, ensuring compliance with standards and client requirements. Applicants should hold a relevant degree (or equivalent experience) and be professionally registered or on track.

Qualifications

• Degree or demonstrable equivalent experience in control & instrumentation engineering.
• Registered or working towards registration with a relevant professional body.
• Nuclear industry experience is desirable but not essential with transferable experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide C&I design support across project phases including prelim/detailed design, procurement, manufacture, construction, commissioning and installation.
• Produce and review C&I deliverables to meet programme deadlines and standards.
• Support development of control and instrumentation systems and plant interfaces.
• Prepare engineering documentation such as control philosophies, instrument schedules and loop diagrams.
• Coordinate with supply chain to ensure compliance with standards and QC testing.
• Integrate C&I systems with other disciplines via BIM and reviews.
• Support validation, verification, commissioning and handover activities.
