BWIC Structural Design Engineer – London, 3 Days/Week

Job summary

Egis Group is seeking an engineer to join the BWIC team for HS2 Old Oak Common Station work package 23 design and build of MEPHFC works. The role is based in the Anthro design office, London, with 3 days per week on site and occasional site meetings at Old Oak Common.

You will coordinate with MEPHFC designers, BBVS client, and third-party work packages to deliver quality on time and within budget. You will support senior staff in meetings and maintain safe, compliant designs across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Technical qualification to degree in relevant subject (BEng/MEng).
• Ability to follow instruction and undertake design interfaces and integration by following agreed processes.
• Ability to communicate effectively to deliver on time and to programme.
• Experience in working in an engineering production environment.
• Experience in the railway industry.
• Experience in following procedures to ensure a multi-disciplinary design approach and the delivery of projects to a high quality.
• Knowledge of UK design standards (Network Rail, HS2, TfL).
• Knowledge of BIM standards, design integration procedures and relevant legislation.
• CITB CSCS scheme.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and agree building services opening positions with CREs/Lead Engineers and third parties.
• Agree BWIC with respect to fire stopping solution led by Fire Engineer.
• Manage a coordinated federated model with clash detection resolution and RFI acceptance for BWIC.
• Perform structural reviews of design and third-party systems (concrete, steel, brickwork, DfMA/bracketry).
• Support senior staff at Client and Principal Designer meetings; escalate issues and record actions via RFI.
• Produce and prepare design in accordance with HS2, Eurocodes, and NR-L2-CIV-003.
