Structural Design Engineer: MEPHFC & BWIC Coordination

Job summary

Egis, in the Anthro joint venture with VVB Engineering, is seeking an engineer to join the BWIC team at HS2 Old Oak Common. You will work from the design office in London with site meetings at Old Oak Common, coordinating with MEPHFC designers and client teams to deliver quality civil/structural outputs on time and within budget.

Responsibilities include coordinating BWIC with stakeholders, managing BIM-facilitated design and resolving RFIs, and ensuring compliance with Network Rail/HS2

Qualifications

• Technical degree in a relevant subject (BEng/MEng).
• Ability to follow instructions and manage design interfaces.
• Strong communication to deliver on time and to programme.
• Experience in an engineering production environment.
• Experience in railway industry and multi-disciplinary design coordination.
• Knowledge of UK design standards (Network Rail, HS2, TfL).
• Knowledge of BIM standards and design integration procedures.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and agree BWIC with CREs/Lead Engineers and third parties.
• Agree BWIC with respect to fire stopping solution led by Fire Engineer.
• Manage a coordinated federated model with clash resolution and RFI acceptance for BWIC.
• Structural review of design and third-party systems (concrete, steelwork, etc.).
• Support meetings with Client and Principal Designer; record actions via RFI.
• Produce civil/structural drawings, calculations, and documentation to HS2/NR standards.
