Booker in Burnley is seeking an experienced butcher to run the Butchery Department, delivering excellent customer service and building strong local trading relationships.

You will apply product knowledge of all meat proteins, manage stock, maintain food safety standards, lead a small team, and develop a business plan to grow sales and profitability while keeping high quality at the core.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining high standards in stock, food safety procedures, and displays
• Work with Store Manager to develop a business plan to grow sales and profitability
• Greet customers, provide advice, take orders and offer helpful guidance
• Order and manage stock, including stocktaking
• Lead a small team, manage staff rota
• Cut meat to order
• Clean and maintain tools and equipment
• Coordinate deliveries or order pickups
• Control waste
