Job summary

Booker is seeking experienced butchers to run our Butchery Departments like their own business. You will work with customers to develop their business, understand your local market and provide them with great service.

This role offers the flexibility to run a butchery business without the financial risk. You should have good product knowledge of all meat proteins, be self-motivated and eager to succeed.

Qualifications

• Experience running a butchery department.
• Ability to develop business with local customers.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards in stock and food safety procedures, including recording information, fresh meat and pre-packed displays.
• Work with Store Manager to develop a business plan that supports growth in sales and profitability.
• Greet customers, provide advice, answer questions, take orders, and offer helpful guidance with a smile.
• Order and manage stock, including stocktaking.
• Develop and manage a small team, including staff rotas.
• Cut meat to order.
• Clean and maintain tools and equipment.
• Coordinate deliveries or order pickups.
• Control waste.
