Job summary

Booker Group in the United Kingdom is seeking experienced butchers to run our Butchery Departments like their own business. This role lets you work with customers to develop their business, understand local markets, and provide great service.

You will manage stock, ensure food safety, train a small team, cut meat to order, and coordinate deliveries, while building profitable growth and maintaining high standards.

Qualifications

• Experience running a butchery department.
• Knowledge of meat proteins and stock control.
• Ability to train and lead a small team.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining high standards in stock, food safety, displays, staff morale and customer satisfaction.
• Work with Store Manager to develop a business plan for growth in sales and profitability.
• Greeting customers, giving advice, taking orders and helping with decisions.
• Ordering and managing stock including stocktaking.
• Developing and managing a small team including staff rota’s.
• Cutting meat to order.
• Cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment.
• Coordinating deliveries or order pickups.
• Controlling waste.
