Job summary

A.F. Blakemore & Son Ltd's SPAR store is seeking a hands-on Butcher who thrives in a friendly retail team and is passionate about high service standards.

You will handle receiving, cutting, packing and labeling of meat, ensure HACCP and health and safety compliance, and help assemble customer orders with accuracy.

Qualifications

• Experience with meat compliance, health and safety, temperature controls and HACCP.
• Experience in a similar role/environment.
• Knowledge of meat products and the industry.
• Basic education (numeracy and literacy).
• Food Hygiene Certification preferred.
• Health and Safety qualification preferred.
• Demonstrable presentation skills are a must.
• Customer focussed and understands the importance to the business.
• Challenges appropriately and identifies areas for improvement.
• Demonstrates integrity, a strong work ethic and upholds company values.

Responsibilities

• Receive, check and transfer goods to temperature-controlled storage.
• Check products for quality.
• Monitor critical control points per HACCP.
• Rotate stock according to procedures.
• Cut, pack and label products accurately.
• Assemble customers' orders.
• Maintain food handling and hygiene standards to prevent contamination or spoilage.
• Control access to the department.
