This role is available as maternity cover for up to 9 months. Internal candidates who are permanent employees of Luton Council will be appointed on a secondment basis, while external candidates and other eligible applicants will be appointed on a fixed-term contract for up to 9 months.

In this varied role, you will be responsible for a wide range of administrative duties, including accurate data entry and record management, processing routine financial and administrative tasks, and coordinating meetings.You will also prepare agendas and take clear, accurate minutes,supportingcolleagues and contributing to the effective operation of the service.
As a BusinessSupportOfficer, you'll bring excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to provide a professional, empathetic andresponsive service to colleagues, partners and members of the public.You'll beconfidentproducing clear reports, correspondence and meeting minutes, while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail in everything you do.
You’ll be able to workindependentlyand collaboratively to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines andsupport the smooth running of the service.Strong numeracy skills are essential, enabling you to monitor data and carry out straightforward financial administration accurately, alongside a goodunderstandingof administrative systems and procedures.
We're looking for someone with a recognised administration qualification at NVQ Level 2 or 3 (or equivalent experience), who iscommittedto equality and inclusion and able to recognise andchallengediscrimination in the workplace or service delivery.You'll also be flexible to attend sites across the Borough when required, adjust your working hours to meet service needs, and communicateconfidentlyin fluent spoken English to provide clear advice andsupport.
