We are looking for a highly motivated and multi-skilled Business Support Administrator to join the East Devon Older Persons Mental Health (OPMH) Community team based in Honiton.

This is a part-time post covering 22.5 hours per week (0.6 WTE).

Main duties of the job

The Business Support Administrator undertakes the administration of all tasks supporting a team of clinical staff assessing and caring for patients within the community. Tasks include answering telephones, office and reception cover, typing all correspondence, assessment letters, appointment and clinic letters, minuting team meetings using Microsoft Word, Excel spreadsheets, and updating our patient record system, Carenotes. The role also involves triaging work via Choose and Book. Tasks are typically managed through a shared email inbox used by all admin staff.

Experience
  • Ability to communicate fluently in spoken and written English.
  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally and tactfully at all levels.
  • Intermediate IT skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Effective organizational skills and the ability to prioritize in a demanding environment.
  • Experience with administrative procedures such as diary management, appointment scheduling, and supporting meetings.
  • Experience with general office routines and filing systems.
  • Knowledge of creating electronic records and filing systems.
  • Experience working as part of a team, respecting confidentiality.
  • Experience dealing with distressed individuals calmly and compassionately.
  • Ability to exercise initiative and work independently on a daily basis.
  • Ability to take accurate minutes, both formal and informal.
  • Experience handling confidential and complex information.
  • Previous NHS experience in healthcare or social care administration is preferred.
Qualifications
