Job summary

Somerset Council’s Children’s Services seeks a Business Operations Supervisor to provide specialist administrative support within Education Services. You will coordinate information across systems, support quality assurance, plan workloads, produce reports and maintain data accuracy for children, families and partner agencies.

Working in a busy, collaborative team with a hybrid model, you will build strong relationships with schools and Local Authorities, supervising colleagues and delivering

Qualifications

  • Proven administrative experience, including supporting or supervising colleagues and working collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong Microsoft 365 skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and other web-based systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to build positive relationships at all levels.
  • Well organised and proactive, able to prioritise workloads, meet deadlines and use your own initiative.
  • A high level of accuracy, attention to detail and professionalism, with a strong commitment to confidentiality and data protection.
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths, or an NVQ Level 3 qualification, with good literacy and numeracy skills.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Children's Services as a Business Operations Supervisor who will provide specialist, high-quality business support for Children's Services. This post is part of a wider Business Operations team specifically working within Education Services.

As a Business Operations Supervisor, you will play a valuable part in assisting Operational colleagues, who support children, young people and their families.

Working within a busy, collaborative and supportive administrative team, you would be undertaking a range of activities.
