Job summary

Somerset Council is seeking a Business Operations Supervisor to provide specialist business support to Children’s Services. You will work in a busy team, coordinating information, supporting quality assurance and reporting to inform decision-making.

The role is fixed term for 2 years, 37 hours per week, with hybrid working options and a salary of £25,989–£28,142 per annum. Closing date 15 September 2026.

Qualifications

• Proven administrative experience and ability to supervise colleagues.
• Strong ICT skills with MS 365 suite and SharePoint.
• Good literacy and numeracy; GCSEs or NVQ3 as minimum.
• Confidentiality and data protection commitments.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage information across systems, ensuring records are accurate and up to date.
• Support QA activities to maintain high standards and outcomes.
• Plan and prioritise workloads across the team to keep services running smoothly.
• Provide day-to-day operational support, monitoring activity and producing reports.
