Are you a customer-focused Operations Manager seeking a new challenge?

Founded in 1977, Planteria has evolved from a small startup into the UK's largest interior landscaping company, with an annual turnover of £20 million. We focus on strategic partnerships, continuous innovation, and client satisfaction, experiencing 33% year-on-year growth over the past three years and employing over 150 staff. Our services include stunning planting solutions, premium corporate floristry, and impressive projects such as roof gardens and living walls.

The opportunity:

We are looking to recruit a proactive Business Manager (X-mas) to deliver the seasonal sales target for Christmas. You will lead a small, energetic team of two, managing order processing via an online portal and coordinating with a nationwide subcontractor network for order fulfillment. You will also oversee capacity planning, conduct regular reviews with subcontractors, including pricing and service levels after the season.

Location & Hours:

The role is a 12-month fixed-term, full-time position (40 hours/week) based at our HQ in Henham (CM22 6AA), a rural location with onsite lunch and ample parking. We offer hybrid working, allowing one day per week remote work when feasible.

Key deliverables:
  1. Lead a small team to ensure customer focus and order fulfillment
  2. Source and manage existing and new subcontractors
  3. Provide quotes for bespoke orders via subcontractors
  4. Manage the online portal for order fulfillment, including order allocation to subcontractors
  5. Monitor daily sales and implement measures to stay on target
  6. Plan capacity for subcontractors and track capacity limits during order allocation
  7. Handle phone coverage during delivery and collection periods (limited time)
Requirements:

We welcome applications from candidates with experience in facilities management, design, contractor management, supply chain, order fulfillment, logistics, or inventory management. Essential skills include:

  • Proven experience managing third-party suppliers and ensuring outstanding customer service
  • Strong Excel and related technology skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and adhere to strict timescales
  • Excellent problem-solving and completion skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Positive attitude and adaptability to change
  • Ability to prioritize and maintain attention to detail
  • Ability to build and maintain long-term relationships
  • Commercial awareness to support sales goals
  • Outstanding team management skills with a focus on teamwork
