Location: Wherever works best for you, though there is a requirement to travel to London twice per week and Cardiff approximately once per month

About The Role

This role is all about people and partnerships. Youll be building trust-based relationships with housing associations, local authorities and other organisations that are working to make homes warmer, greener and more sustainable around the London area. Youll spot and shape new opportunities, working closely with our Partnerships team and others across Sero to develop tailored solutions that align with both climate goals and commercial needs.

How You Will Help

Youll play a key part in our commercial team, helping us identify, develop and secure new business opportunities. That includes:

  • Finding and progressing new opportunities in the social housing space especially with housing associations and local authorities
  • Working closely with our Partnerships Manager to build and grow early-stage opportunities
  • Leading on prospecting, engagement and early relationship development, helping shape conversations with insight and warmth
  • Collaborating with colleagues across delivery, tech, finance and marketing to create tailored client proposals and solutions
  • Staying on top of whats happening in the industry including policy changes, funding schemes and regulatory updates and using that knowledge to inform strategy and client discussions
  • Representing Sero at events, meetings and conferences
  • Supporting our go-to-market strategy and shaping how we communicate our value in the sector
  • Helping us track our pipeline, performance and forecast future opportunities
  • Spotting and nurturing potential upsell or cross-sell opportunities across the business

What Youll Bring

Were looking for someone with experience and credibility in this space and the energy and insight to help us grow. Youll likely have:

  • A strong understanding of energy services and technologies things like renewables, energy efficiency and heating solutions
  • Experience working in or alongside the social housing sector (a bonus, but not essential)
  • A proven track record in business development, with an emphasis on building long-term relationships
  • A good handle on relevant policy, regulation and funding in the energy and housing sectors
  • Project management skills and a background in client-facing roles

Permanent: We're a growing SME and see this role as a permanent member of our growing team. Weve got lots of plans up our sleeves for exciting new things!

Working Hours: We consider full-time to be 37.5 hours per week between 7am and 7pm Monday to Friday but this could also be a part-time role if it works best for you. How you wish to make a working pattern is up to you, as long as youre meeting the needs of the role. We think work should suit your lifestyle, so we welcome you to work when you can be most efficient.

We'd like some of your working hours to be coordinated with other team members and stakeholders to ensure we're being efficient and communicating effectively,

Location: This is a hybrid role with regular travel required. Youll need to be available to travel to London at least twice per week to meet with clients and attend stakeholder meetings. Wed also like you to spend time with the team at our Cardiff office roughly once a month. When youre not attending in-person meetings, you can work flexibly from wherever suits you best.

Salary: Were budgeting between £49,000 - £55,000 per year for a full-time person in this role, with the offered salary being based on previous experience. If the role is part-time, the salary will be adjusted accordingly based on the agreed hours.
