Yusen Logistics is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join our team at the Northampton site. The role focuses on supporting the sales team, driving revenue growth, and managing relationships with new clients while exploring opportunities with existing clients in Lifestyle and Technology verticals.

The successful candidate will have a strong logistics background, be self-motivated, and capable of handling end-to-end tender processes.

• Collaborate with solution design, operations and finance to deliver customised logistics solutions.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and identify new business opportunities.
• Identify cross-selling opportunities for different business units.
• Proactively seek new leads and attend industry events.
• Prepare and present sales reports to senior management.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the sales team, driving revenue growth and managing key relationships with new clients, as well as identifying and exploring new scope for existing clients within the Lifestyle and Technology vertical. This role requires a self-motivated person with a strong sales background and a good knowledge of the logistics industry.

This role will be based at our new SDC site in Northampton site (NN7 2FR), with opportunity to work remotely up to 3 days per week (subject to business requirements). It will also require regular travel to visit customers across the UK.

This a full-time, permanent position offering a salary of £50,000 - £60,000 (depending on experience). The working hours are Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting the company sales strategy to achieve revenue targets, focusing on targeting new customers within the Lifestyle and Technology Industry Vertical.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including potential customers and partners.
• Manage key stages of the sales cycle from initial customer contact through to RFQ project management and support in contract negotiations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including solution design, operations and finance to design and deliver customised logistics solutions that meet clients’ specific needs.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market conditions, and competitive landscape to identify business opportunities.
• Identify cross-selling opportunities for different business units and clusters.
• Proactively seek new leads and attend industry events.
• Prepare and present sales reports to senior management, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.

What You Will Bring To The Role

• Proven experience in a business development role within a logistics operation, including warehousing and / or transport.
• Experience managing end-to-end tender processes.
• Exceptional communication, sales and relationship building skills.
• Excellent presentation skills, able to make powerful arguments and persuade both visually, in documents and verbally.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and make data‑driven decisions.
• Proactive and results-orientated.
