Job summary

Yusen Logistics is seeking an International Freight Forwarder to join our Newcastle site (SR5 2TA). You will work with a team to plan international shipments for clients, with the possibility of remote work up to three days per week depending on business needs.

This full-time role offers a salary of £25,000–£30,000 (dependent on experience) with hours Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm. It presents an opportunity to grow in a dynamic logistics environment focused on customer service and efficient operations.

Responsibilities

• Plan international shipments for clients as part of the team.

• Produce reports for management and clients and support process improvements.
• Engage with clients to understand and meet their requirements.

Role Overview

We are looking for an International Freight Forwarder to join our team at our Newcastle site (SR5 2TA), with opportunity to work remotely up to 3 days per week (subject to business requirements).

In this role, you’ll be working as part of a team to ensure effective planning of international shipments on behalf of our clients. It is a fantastic opportunity for a driven individual looking to develop their career in logistics.

This a full-time, permanent position offering a salary of £25,000 - £30,000 (depending on experience). The working hours are Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm.

Key Responsibilities

• Overseeing agreed procedures as a control tower for healthcare business, ensuring all operations adhere to route lane designs agreed and approved by Quality Manager within Yusen and the client.
• Supporting the compliance team with investigations as required.
• Acting as the direct contact between our customers and internal and external stakeholders.
• To be the initial contact for all bookings, queries and finance related issues for our portfolio of clients.
• Ensuring costs received and debits raised are as per the agreed levels.
• Producing required reports for management and clients where necessary and assisting with continuous improvement opportunities.
• Engaging with the clients to fully understand and meet their requirements and expectations.

What You Will Bring To The Role

• Proven experience working within an international freight forwarding environment, including air and / or sea freight.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• High attention to detail.
• Good administrative and IT skills, including use of Microsoft Office applications.
• Can-do attitude and willingness to learn.
