Yusen Logistics in Northampton seeks a Contract Manager for its Sustainable Distribution Centre. You will lead the rollout and implementation of new customer contracts, manage the financial performance, and ensure service excellence across operations, IT interfaces, and support teams.

Responsibilities

• New Contracts Implementation: develop rollout plans, coordinate across departments, align operations with customer requirements.
• Customer Service: build relationships, lead reviews, negotiate renewals and act as escalation point.
• Operational Control & Finance: manage P&L, ensure data accuracy, approve costs and revenues, drive cost savings.
• Team Leadership: train and mentor staff, maintain org charts and job descriptions, promote engagement.
• Health & Safety: ensure compliance, lead H&S agenda, chair monthly meetings, promote best practice.
• Continuous Improvement: drive efficiency, identify revenue opportunities and improve quality systems.

This would include organising and managing the operational, commercial and customer facing functions of the contracts, in such a manner as to provide the best possible service to the customer, within the economic constraints of the business, and also to adhere to both company and customer quality standards, while maintaining good staff relations and Health & Safety standardsKey Responsibilities1. New Contracts Implementation• Develop rollout plans for new customer contracts, including service scope, timelines, resources, and system integration.• Coordinate across departments (operations, finance, IT, support) to ensure readiness.• Align operations with customer-specific requirements.2. Customer Service• Build and maintain strong customer relationships, supporting organic growth.• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual business reviews.• Negotiate renewals and annual reviews.• Act as key escalation point for customer queries.• Share best practices internally and ensure accurate reporting.3. Operational Control & Finance• Manage Profit & Loss for customer accounts, achieving budgetary targets.• Oversee financial data flows to strict deadlines.• Approve costs and revenues (purchase orders, invoices).• Ensure charging and invoicing procedures are followed.• Drive profit-enhancing initiatives and cost savings.• Support budget building for contracts and collaborate with wider SDC management.4.
