The Role:

As Business Development Manager, you’ll play a critical role in identifying and securing new business opportunities, targeting high-value clients across commercial and industrial sectors.

You’ll own the full sales lifecycle from lead generation to contract negotiation, with a focus on long-cycle, complex projects involving advanced energy infrastructure solutions.

You will have full autonomy to run your own diary, meet with clients face-to-face, manage a strategic pipeline, and deliver results in a solution-led, consultative sales environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and convert new business opportunities through proactive networking, outreach and market intelligence.
  • Build and manage a robust pipeline of leads across the UK, targeting senior stakeholders and C-suite decision-makers.
  • Develop tailored proposals and sales strategies that address client-specific challenges and align with broader sustainability goals.
  • Lead commercial negotiations and close deals on high-value infrastructure projects.
  • Collaborate with technical, marketing, and project delivery teams to align proposals with client needs and service capabilities.
  • Maintain CRM systems, accurately forecast performance, and be accountable for your sales targets.

Your Background:

You are a driven, consultative sales professional with experience in energy, engineering or infrastructure with a strong track record of closing complex deals in technical environments.

You will bring:

  • Proven experience as a Business Development Manager or similar role in energy, engineering, or infrastructure.
  • Experience selling to a range of stakeholders, including technical teams and senior executives.
  • A background in engineering or a solid understanding of technical project environments.
  • Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and a data-informed approach to sales planning.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport and trust quickly.
  • The ability to work autonomously while contributing as part of a wider commercial team.
