Working within our Defence team, we seek an experienced Business Development Account Manager with extensive SaaS sales experience to join our growing team.

The Opportunity:

We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to strengthen relationships with existing clients and expand into new Defence sectors, focusing on SaaS sales.

You will have established relationships with MOD and defence industry partners, managing and growing our influence through consultative engagement, stakeholder management, and reputation building. Reporting to the Defence Account Director, you will work with a dedicated team to identify new opportunities and develop strategic growth plans. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading business development activities to secure profitable growth, including upselling, cross-selling, and pipeline expansion.
  • Managing key client relationships and influencing new opportunities.
  • Supporting proposition development with Technical Leads.
  • Planning and delivering competitive bids with the Bid team.
  • Overseeing commercial aspects of proposals, supported by legal and technical teams.
  • Contributing to Defence strategies and engagement plans.
  • Targeting new clients and growth areas within Defence.
  • Promoting expansion of our software solutions into the defence sector.
  • Building external partnerships aligned with account goals.
  • Collaborating with technical teams to address gaps and forecast resource needs.
  • Managing input on bid and account management processes.

Role Location:

Hybrid working from UK offices or home, with regular visits to clients mainly in the South West, South, London, and Midlands.

The Fit:

The ideal candidate will have prior senior sales or business development experience with MOD clients, including:

  • Managing long-term stakeholder relationships.
  • Growing accounts through new business and expanding offerings.
  • Selling SaaS solutions.
  • Working within frameworks.
  • Leading commercial negotiations.
  • Managing client relationships to meet goals and objectives.
  • Mentoring junior staff.

Security clearance eligibility is required; candidates must be UK citizens and have lived in the UK for the past 5 years.
