We are the Information Intelligence Group (IIG) of CACI UK, a specialist software consultancy providing bespoke solutions to solve complex operational problems. Working within our Defence team, we seek an experienced Business Development Account Manager with extensive SaaS sales experience to lead our growing team.

The Opportunity:

We are looking for a Business Development Manager to strengthen relationships with current clients and expand into new Defence areas, focusing on SaaS sales.

You should have established relationships within the MOD and defence industry, managing and growing influence through consultative engagement, stakeholder management, and reputation building. Reporting to the Defence Account Director, you will work with a dedicated team to maintain and grow our Defence client base.

This role involves sales, leadership, client management, and team management. Responsibilities include:

  • Leading business development to secure profitable, sustainable growth, including upselling, cross-selling, and pipeline expansion.
  • Managing key client relationships.
  • Shaping and influencing new opportunities with clients and partners.
  • Supporting proposition development with Technical Leads.
  • Planning and delivering bids with the Bid team.
  • Overseeing commercial aspects of proposals, supported by legal and technical teams.
  • Contributing to Defence strategy and marketing activities.
  • Targeting new clients and areas for growth.
  • Expanding our software into the defence sector, understanding client needs.
  • Building external partnerships.
  • Identifying and addressing gaps with Technical and Delivery Leads.
  • Managing pre-bid, bid, tender, and account management processes.

Role Location:

Hybrid working across UK offices or from home, with regular visits to clients mainly in the South West, South, London, and Midlands.

The Fit:

Ideal candidates will have senior sales or business development experience with MOD clients, including:

  • Developing and maintaining long-term stakeholder relationships.
  • Growing accounts through new business and expanding offerings.
  • Selling SaaS.
  • Experience with frameworks and negotiations.
  • Managing client relationships to meet goals and commercial targets.
  • Mentoring junior staff.

Candidates must be able to obtain high-level security clearance, requiring UK citizenship and residence in the UK for the past 5 years.
