Job Description:

Our client is a main contractor with an established business and team. They currently need a Business Development Manager to join their team in London. Their target projects range from £1M-£10M, focusing on High-End Residential & Hospitality (new build and interiors). In this lead role, you will report to and work closely with the Operations Director and the Bidmercial team. You will be responsible for work winning, developing new leads, and securing additional business. You should have experience in a similar role within the construction industry and be looking to join an established SME. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Presenting to potential clients and consultants through direct communication, face-to-face meetings, telephone calls, and emails.
  2. Attending meetings and events with clients and potential clients, including industry events and trade shows.
  3. Generating leads and appointments for preliminary interviews and briefings.
  4. Reporting on Business Development activities to management.
  5. Managing a pipeline of opportunities, ensuring all deadlines are met, and information presented meets company standards.
  6. Assisting in creating client proposals and subsequent documentation as part of the submission team.
  7. Working closely with the estimating and technical teams.

You should have:

  1. A recognized industry qualification and/or a proven relevant track record.
  2. Significant experience in business development activities within the construction/property industry.
  3. Exceptional relationship management and networking abilities, coupled with a genuine passion for the construction and property sector.
