Job summary

KM Recruitment is seeking a Business Development Manager – Apprenticeships to win new business across SME and Levy employer sectors, promoting apprenticeship starts and commercial training. The role is home/field based with travel as required, covering a UK-wide remit and requiring adaptable, self-motivated outreach.

You will build relationships consultatively, identify opportunities, negotiate, and close deals, while guiding employers through Apprenticeship funding criteria and Levy reforms.

Qualifications

• Proven experience of developing new business with SMEs and Levy employers for Apprenticeship starts.
• Strong CV showing longevity as a BDM within the apprenticeship/skills arena.
• Exceptional communication skills and drive to succeed.
• Understanding of Apprenticeships funding criteria and Levy spending.
• Experience generating employer leads, negotiating, winning and closing.
• Experience working towards targets.
• Full, clean driving licence and use of a vehicle.
• Flexible with travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Proactively identify and engage with businesses, to promote Apprenticeship and Commercial training programmes.
• Develop new business and cultivate existing relationships in a consultative way.
• Work toward and achieve growth and revenue targets.
• Attend meetings with decision makers to discuss training and recruitment needs.
• Advise employers on Apprenticeship Levy and funding reforms.
• Undertake Organisational Needs Analysis and design training plans.
• Keep up to date with market and competitor activity; identify new opportunities.
• Report sales data and forecasts; meet month-end deadlines.
• Cross-sell other products to provide a well-rounded service.

Salary: £40,000 + £10k OTE

Type: Full-time, Permanent

• The successful Business Development Manager will have proven experience of developing new business with SME’s and Levy employers for Apprenticeship starts, or Commercial training (ideally within Business Services or Early Years).

The Role:

• Keep up to date with competitor’s strengths and weaknesses, evaluating the market and scoping out new opportunities.
• Report sales data and forecasts on a regular basis and meet month end sales deadlines.
