Job summary

KM Recruitment is seeking a Business Development Manager – Apprenticeships to cover home/field based duties with travel across the UK, including the Nottingham area. You will drive new business development with SME and Levy employer accounts, promoting Apprenticeship and commercial training solutions.

The role requires a proven track record in securing starts, strong communication skills, and a solid understanding of Apprenticeships funding criteria.

Qualifications

• Experience developing new business with SMEs and Levy employers for Apprenticeship starts.
• Strong CV showing longevity in BDM roles within the apprenticeship/skills arena.
• Excellent communication skills with drive to succeed.
• Understanding of Apprenticeships funding criteria and Levy spending.
• Proven experience generating employer leads, negotiating and closing new business.

Responsibilities

• Identify and engage with businesses to promote Apprenticeship and Commercial training programmes.
• Develop and nurture new and existing business relationships.
• Work towards hitting growth and revenue targets.
• Attend meetings with decision makers to discuss training and recruitment needs.
• Advise employers on Apprenticeship Levy and future funding reforms.

Job Title: Business Development Manager – Apprenticeships

Location: Home/Field based - Must be flexible with travel

Salary: £40,000 + £10k OTE

Type: Full-time, Permanent

Essential Criteria:

• The successful Business Development Manager will have proven experience of developing new business with SME’s and Levy employers for Apprenticeship starts, or Commercial training (ideally within Business Services or Early Years).

• Strong CV that shows longevity as a BDM within the apprenticeship / skills arena
• Exceptional communication skills, with the desire and drive to succeed.
• Strong understanding of Apprenticeships funding criteria and Levy spending.
• Proven experience of generating own employer leads, negotiating / winning, and closing new business.
• Experience of working towards and achieving targets.
• Full, clean driving licence and use of a vehicle.
• Must be flexible with travel (as and when required)

The Role:

• Proactively identify and engage with businesses, to promote our client's offering of Apprenticeship and Commercial training programmes.

• Working in a consultative way, to create new business and develop existing business relationships.
• Working towards and achieving targets linked to growth and revenue.
• Attend meetings with decision makers to discuss their training and recruitment needs.
• Give advice and support to employers regarding the Apprenticeship Levy and future funding reforms.
• Undertake Organisational Needs Analysis and design / develop training plans to meet employer’s needs.
• Keep up to date with competitor’s strengths and weaknesses, evaluating the market and scoping out new opportunities.
• Report sales data and forecasts on a regular basis and meet month end sales deadlines.
• Cross sell other products, seizing all opportunities to offer clients a well-rounded service.
