This position is part of the European Sales Team located in United Kingdom and will be fully remote; you will be reporting to the Sales Director, EMEA. At Aldevron, we combine best-in-class products and service with the ideal operating environment to lay the groundwork for vital new discoveries worldwide. The Senior Account Manager works closely with all relevant business units and operations teams at Aldevron to develop and implement a sales strategy that will grow Aldevron’s market share in Europe primarily the UK and Nordic regions.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Identify, progress and close new business opportunities across all account types in the assigned territory this includes academia, biotech, and pharma.
- Develop territory and business development plans, adjusting sales strategies and tactical execution to facilitate revenue growth in the assigned territory.
- Routinely provide accurate and up to date forecasts to deliver visibility to the organisation of new revenue opportunities and project quarterly and annual revenue recognition.
- Establish and nurture business opportunities with new clients in the territory by supporting the client’s ongoing and future programs. Engage and co-ordinate with all necessary internal stakeholders to progress business opportunities including Client Relations, Project Management, Operations, Quality, R&D etc.
- Work with Key Account Manager(s) to develop relationships and new business in Key Accounts at a local level (where applicable) within the territory.
- Deliver presentations to clients on Aldevron’s complete offerings, engaging with key decision makers within the clients’ organisation.
- Track and manage opportunities through effective engagement with Aldevron’s CRM system
- Consistently meet or exceed key performance metrics and goals.
- Communicate client feedback to Product Management and Operations regarding new service opportunities and updates to current products.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Minimum of a Bachelors in Science degree in a scientific field is required, advance degree (MSc or PhD) in a scientific discipline is preferred.
- Technical experience in a CDMO focusing on advanced therapeutics is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a client-facing sales role in the life sciences industry, with preferred experience selling into the cell and gene therapy industry is preferred.
- Broad technical understanding in the field of molecular and cell biology, with a clear understanding of advanced therapeutics, for example gene editing, mRNA therapeutics, viral vector technologies and cell therapies such as CAR-T.
- Demonstrated experience in developing territory and business development plans which serve to expand the business.
- High-level understanding of the unique regulatory and quality requirements within the territory i.e. MHRA and HPRA is a plus
Travel
- This is a field-based role with travel expected up to 50% focusing initially on growing Aldevron’s business within the cell and gene therapy sectors in the UK and Nordic regions.
