This is more than just a selling role; you will work with the board to deliver, implement, and drive the company's New Market Entry strategy. This is a senior and very important position; success will lead to promotion to Director within a global leader in a multi-billion group. Mercury Hampton Ltd is a multi-award-winning international search and talent consultancy, partnering with some of the world's leading manufacturing companies globally, specializing in strategic commercial technical recruitment including leadership alignment, assessment, performance, and global commercial restructuring.

The key to success in this role is a proven track record and profound understanding of the Aerospace markets in Europe, or similar experience in Gas Turbines, Medical, Space, or Oil and Gas—sectors with demanding standards and high regulation.

The Candidate:

  • The successful candidate will have an outstanding proven track record in selling, penetrating, and winning business in critical markets across Europe.
  • Ideally, you will have a proven track record in the Aerospace Tier 1 and OEM markets.
  • You will ideally have knowledge of metals and metal components in these markets.
  • Experience or a desire to move into strategic new market entry business development is preferred; this role will be challenging and requires a resilient character.
  • Outstanding new business and key account management skills, with comfort in building long-term relationships over a long sales cycle.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to map out sectors, generate new business, and develop long-term relationships.
  • Sales management experience or senior business development background is advantageous.
  • Ability to forecast and budget accurately.
  • Pipeline management and closing skills.
  • A strong strategic mindset, commercial acumen, and emotional intelligence.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with various levels within organizations.
  • An eye for upselling and cross-selling opportunities, with strong networking skills within corporate entities.
