Dron & Dickson is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join the Engineering Services (Onshore) team, based in the North of England with regular visits to the Hull office.

You will identify and develop new client opportunities, lead technical engagements, and manage proposals from opportunity to award, collaborating with BD, Engineering and Marketing teams across LV/HV and hazardous area services. A UK driving licence is essential.

Competenze

• Qualified Electrical Engineer with at least 5 years’ experience in a similar technical or business development role.
• Strong technical knowledge across LV/HV systems and electrical engineering standards.
• Commercially aware, with the ability to identify value and cost‑saving opportunities for clients.
• Confident interpreting scopes, drawings, specifications and calculations.
• Proven ability to develop technical solutions and convert them into winning proposals.
• Strong communication, planning and organisational skills.
• Self‑motivated, professional and comfortable working independently and collaboratively.
• Full UK driving licence.

We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join our Engineering Services (Onshore) team. Reporting to the Engineering Services Manager, you will play a key role in developing new business opportunities and strengthening existing client relationships across the onshore electrical engineering sector.

This role focuses on identifying, developing and converting opportunities aligned with our diversified engineering services offering, including low voltage, high voltage, fire & gas, and hazardous area inspection and maintenance.

Key responsibilities

Qualifications (preferred)

• Degree or HND/HNC in Electrical Engineering
• Ongoing commitment to professional development
• IEng or CEng registration (desirable, not essential)
• Membership of a recognised professional body (e.g. IET)
• You’ll be part of a technically strong, collaborative engineering services team with the opportunity to influence growth, shape client solutions and contribute to continuous improvement across the business.
