Turning an enquiry into an order is one thing. Turning that customer into a long-term, growing account is where you'll really make an impact. As a Business Development Executive, you'll take ownership of inbound opportunities, build valuable customer relationships and help drive sustainable commercial growth.
This is a role for someone who understands B2B sales and knows that sending a quote is only part of the job. You'll manage opportunities from first conversation through to order, while developing existing accounts and using what you learn from customers to help improve the wider sales operation.
What's in it for you
- £30,000 base salary plus commission.
- A permanent, full-time position with Monday to Friday working.
- Inbound opportunities to develop rather than relying solely on cold prospecting.
- Ownership of a portfolio of customers with genuine scope to generate repeat business and account growth.
- Exposure to commercial decision-making across pricing, proposals and deal structure.
- The opportunity to work closely with operational, technical, finance and customer experience teams.
Your responsibilities as Business Development Executive
- Convert inbound enquiries from initial conversation through quotation, negotiation and order.
- Develop retained customer accounts, generating repeat business and identifying opportunities for further growth.
- Prepare accurate, commercially considered quotations and proposals based on customer requirements, pricing and product fit.
- Follow up opportunities consistently, maintaining an accurate and reliable sales pipeline.
- Build credible customer relationships based on understanding requirements and delivering the right solution rather than competing purely on price.
- Maintain accurate CRM records and share useful customer, market and competitor insight with the wider sales team.
What we're looking for in a Business Development Executive
- B2B sales or commercial experience with responsibility for converting enquiries into orders.
- Experience managing and developing a portfolio of repeat customers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to understand customer requirements and present appropriate solutions.
- Experience using CRM, quotation or similar business software, alongside strong organisation across multiple opportunities and accounts.
- Experience within identity and access control, technical products or a related environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
