Job description

LOCALiQ, part of Newsquest Media Group, the UK’s leading local publisher, is seeking a motivated Business Development Consultant to join our team covering the Mid Wales Region.

With access to over 200 trusted news brands, an award-winning events division, and cutting-edge digital marketing solutions, LOCALiQ helps businesses connect with their audiences. The role involves representing our digital products and the title, The County Times.

This varied role includes selling digital marketing services and print advertising solutions. You will build strong client relationships, manage your territory and sales pipeline, identify and reach out to potential clients, and maintain key accounts to ensure excellent service and measurable results.

Key Responsibilities

What we’re looking for:

We seek a confident, proactive sales professional with resilience, adaptability, and a passion for helping clients succeed. Experience in sales, media, or marketing is preferred but not essential. You should be comfortable working independently, managing your workload, and spotting new opportunities. A background or interest in forestry, farming, or agriculture sectors is a bonus. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are required.

Role duties include:

  • Business-to-business sales via telephone, video, and face-to-face meetings
  • Selling digitally-led solutions tailored to client needs
  • Researching customer businesses or sectors
  • Sourcing new business and maximizing marketing spend
  • Developing multimedia revenue streams
  • Maintaining high customer service standards
  • Growing customer base through effective territory and competitor management
  • Recognizing new business opportunities
