The Role

Business Applications Support Analyst James Fisher & Sons (JFS)

As a Business Applications Support Analyst at James Fisher & Sons (JFS), you will play a key role in maintaining and optimizing our core business systems to support strategic goals. Your responsibilities include troubleshooting technical issues, assisting with system upgrades, and ensuring the seamless operation of our ERP and related solutions. You will embody JFS’s valued behaviors by thinking creatively to solve challenges and drive innovation, collaborating with integrity and fairness, delivering results with enthusiasm, and demonstrating resilience in tackling obstacles with accountability. Principle Accountabilities

• Provide first-line support for ERP and other core systems, including Microsoft Business Central and IFS.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to systems, monitor system performance and implement improvements when needed.
• Liaise with system support partners where needed to resolve issues.
• Assist with the implementation and upgrade of systems.
• Collaborate with various departments to understand their needs and provide appropriate solutions.
• Conduct training sessions for end-users to ensure effective use of systems.
• Maintain documentation related to systems, including user manuals and technical guides.
• Ensure data integrity and security within the systems.
  
  

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Knowledge of business analysis and process mapping.
• Proven experience in supporting ERP systems, specifically Microsoft Business Central or IFS.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of SQL and database management is a plus.
• Experience in Organisational Change Management.
• Experience with system integration and data migration.
• Familiarity with business processes in finance, supply chain, and operations.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail to ensure issues resolved correctly and efficiently.
• Creative and innovative thinker who can develop new solutions to meet evolving ERP challenges.
