Overview

Due to continued business growth, we have a great opportunity for a talented Building Surveyor to join our team in Liverpool.

We have a depth and breadth of experience, expertise, and local knowledge to support our clients at every stage of property investment, ownership, and occupation from acquisition to disposal. The role provides an opportunity to be part of an ambitious team who continue to grow in line with the company growth strategy.

The successful candidate will be part of a team of building surveyors covering all aspects of professional and project related building surveying across a wide range of sectors including educational, commercial, industrial etc. Our team has a broad-based background, is a highly motivated group with varying levels of experience, so is the ideal place to progress your career in the profession.

The role will cover the full spectrum of building surveying services including (but not limited to) surveys, dilapidations, contract administration and management of projects, design and specification, and quality inspections.

Responsibilities
  • Delivering projects, commissions, and professional services.
  • Maintaining effective communication to ensure all information is available for successful completion of the projects.
  • Represent the company in a professional and diligent manner and help to promote Ridge and Partners by engaging with clients and attending networking events.
  • Assist with undertaking building surveys, taking particulars on site, attending meetings, writing up specifications, obtaining estimates, planning maintenance programmes, and administering contracts for maintenance work.
  • Support the Building Surveying team on complex multi-disciplinary schemes.
  • Assist with analysing and reporting on building defects.
  • Support the Building Surveyors with preparing schedules of dilapidations and negotiating settlements.
  • Assist with the supervision of building work on site.
  • Assisting the Building Surveyors with providing advice on the design, construction, maintenance, repair and refurbishment of all types of property.
Qualifications
  • Relevant degree (RICS approved, 2:1 minimum).
  • Well organised, diligent, and proactive.
  • A full driving licence.
  • Good IT skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, AutoCAD, NBS and other software).
  • A team player.
  • As a Building Surveyor you will need to demonstrate the desire, drive and a real enthusiasm to becoming a Chartered Building Surveyor which will be fully supported by the company (the national Ridge APC support process) and the local Building Surveying Team.
  • You will need to be personable, presentable and have good communication skills in this client facing role.
  • An ability to produce your own documentation based on our standards is essential, as is an ability to organise, manage your time efficiently in the delivery of the services for multiple projects at any one time.
