Pay Rate: £33 per hour PAYE
Hours per week: 37 Monday – Friday, normal working hours

Summary of what the candidate must have to apply:
- Strong experience as a Building Surveyor, with the ability to independently manage a mixed portfolio of works.
- Experience working across housing and/or corporate assets.
- Ability to deliver surveys, diagnose defects and specify appropriate repair solutions.
- Sound knowledge of building construction, maintenance, regulations and contract processes.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for site visits.
The role:
The postholder will deliver building surveying services across a range of properties, undertaking inspections, identifying defects, specifying works and overseeing repairs. The role involves managing contractors, ensuring compliance with standards and providing technical advice to support the repairs and maintenance service.
Key accountabilities:
- Carry out building surveys to identify defects, maintenance requirements and repair solutions.
- Develop specifications, schedules of work and technical documentation.
- Manage contractors to ensure works are delivered to required standards, timescales and cost parameters.
- Provide technical advice on building matters, regulations and maintenance requirements.
- Support delivery of repairs and planned maintenance across a varied property portfolio.
- Assist with monitoring performance and ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and council policy.
- Attend site inspections, project meetings and liaise with stakeholders as required.
Requirements/key criteria:
- Proven experience as a Building Surveyor delivering surveys, technical inspections and repair specifications.
- Strong understanding of building construction, property maintenance and statutory building requirements.
- Confident in producing specifications, assessing contractor work and ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Experience working directly with contractors and managing building works on site.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a wider property services team.
- Strong communication skills for liaising with tenants, contractors and internal teams.
- Full clean driving licence with access to a vehicle for site work.
Desirable:
- Experience in a local authority or housing sector setting.
- Knowledge of planned maintenance processes and contract administration.
