Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting a dedicated BSL Teaching Assistant to support pupils with hearing impairments in a Leeds school. This full-time, long-term role offers daily pay between £100 and £115 with PAYE and no umbrella deductions.

A strong BSL skillset and a caring approach are essential to help pupils access lessons and develop confidence. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals to create an inclusive learning environment, supporting social

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, young people or within education.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH & SEND.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A calm, patient and nurturing approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with hearing impairments.
• Use British Sign Language (BSL) to support communication and learning.
• Help pupils access lessons and classroom activities.
• Support social development, confidence and independence.
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals.
• Create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment.
