Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting a dedicated BSL Teaching Assistant to support pupils with hearing impairments in a Leeds school. This full-time, long-term role offers daily pay between £100 and £115 with PAYE and no umbrella deductions.

A strong BSL skillset and a caring approach are essential to help pupils access lessons and develop confidence. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals to create an inclusive learning environment, supporting social

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with British Sign Language (BSL) skills who is passionate about supporting children with SEN and helping pupils thrive in the classroom.

The Role

As a BSL Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with hearing impairments

  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals

Requirements

To be considered for this BSL Teaching Assistant role, you should have:

  • Experience working with children, young people, or within education
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEMH & SEND
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A calm, patient, and nurturing approach

Experience in roles such as Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, or Communication Support Worker is highly desirable.
