Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting a dedicated BSL Teaching Assistant to support pupils with hearing impairments at a Southfields-based school in South West London. You will assist in classrooms, facilitate communication between students and staff, and help learners access lessons.

The ideal candidate holds a BSL qualification (Level 2+), has experience with children, and demonstrates patience and inclusive practice.

Qualifications

• Holds a BSL qualification (Level 2 or above preferred).
• Experience working with children or young people with hearing impairments is desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom support to pupils who use BSL.
• Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and peers.
• Support learning activities on a one-to-one and small group basis.
• Encourage independence, confidence, and social development.
• Work closely with teaching staff and specialist support teams.
• Assist with the implementation of individual learning plans.
