Job summary

Dovetail and Slate Limited in London is seeking experienced BSL/Sign Language Specialists to join our education team from September 2026. The role is temporary, 30 hours per week, and focuses on supporting deaf and hearing-impaired learners across various curricula.

You will work closely with students, providing high-quality communication support and tailored learning assistance. Applicants should have BSL level 4 or 6 and proven experience in education settings; safeguarding checks apply.

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has become available for several experienced BSL/Sign Language Specialist to join a supportive education provider in London from September 2026.

We are looking for enthusiastic professionals who are passionate about supporting deaf and hearing-impaired learners to achieve their full potential. The successful candidates will work closely with students across a variety of curriculum areas, providing high-quality communication and learning support.

This opportunity would suit candidates from a range of backgrounds, including Further Education, schools, specialist education, residential care, supported living, or support work.

About You

We're keen to hear from candidates who have:

• BSL Level 4 or 6 (or equivalent)
• Experience supporting deaf or hearing-impaired individuals
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A flexible and proactive approach to supporting learners
• The ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues

Experience in any of the following roles would be highly desirable:

• BSL Interpreter
• Communication Support Worker
• Teacher of the Deaf
• Learning Support Practitioner
• Learning Support Assistant
