Job summary

Dovetail and Slate is seeking a Communication Support Worker to assist deaf and hard of hearing students in a West London FE setting.

You will provide BSL/communication support in classrooms, adapt learning materials, collaborate with teachers, and help students with EHCPs while promoting deaf awareness.

Full-time and term-time/part-time roles are available; sponsorship is not provided.

Qualifications

  • BSL Level 3 minimum.
  • Strong signing skills.
  • Experience supporting deaf/hard of hearing people.
  • Ideally experience within an education setting.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexible and student-focused approach.

Communication Support Worker - BSL

Are you a BSL Level 3+ qualified Communication Support Worker looking for a rewarding role supporting deaf and hard of hearing students?

We are recruiting Communication Support Workers to join an FE setting, helping students access their learning and achieve their potential.

The Role
  • Provide BSL/communication support in the classroom.
  • Support deaf and hard of hearing students with their learning.
  • Adapt learning materials and curriculum content.
  • Work closely with teaching and support staff.
  • Support students with EHCPs and monitor progress.
  • Promote deaf awareness across the college.
  • Support students during trips, visits and wider activities.
About You

You’ll need:

  • BSL Level 3 minimum.
  • Strong signing skills.
  • Experience supporting deaf/hard of hearing people.
  • Ideally, experience within an education setting.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A flexible and student-focused approach.
