Ribbons & Reeves seeks an experienced BSL Teacher for a specialist SEND school with a focus on communication-rich learning. The role starts in September 2026 and is based in London, with a full-time, long-term commitment.

You will plan and deliver BSL-enhanced lessons, adapt the curriculum for diverse needs, and work with families and SEN professionals to promote pupil progress and independence in an inclusive setting.

Qualifications

  • QTS or an appropriate teaching qualification.
  • Strong BSL skills and confidence using BSL within the classroom.
  • Experience teaching pupils with SEND, Deafness or hearing impairment.
  • A strong understanding of differentiated and personalised teaching.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A commitment to inclusive education and pupil progress.

Job description

BSL Teacher – Specialist SEND SchoolA specialist SEND school is seeking an experienced and passionate BSL Teacher to join its dedicated team from September. This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher with strong British Sign Language skills to work with pupils who are Deaf, hearing impaired or have additional SEND needs, helping them develop both academically and personally through an accessible and communication-rich curriculum.

The Role
  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons using BSL and appropriate communication strategies
  • Adapt the curriculum to meet individual learning and communication needs
  • Support pupils with a range of SEND alongside their hearing impairment or Deafness
  • Assess progress and contribute to individual learning plans and EHCP outcomes

About You
