Job summary

Protocol Education Ltd. is recruiting for a SEND support role in the Bristol area. You will use BSL or Makaton to help pupils access learning, building confidence and independence while forming trusting relationships with students and staff.

The role focuses on supporting communication needs, collaborating with teachers and therapists, and contributing to a positive learning environment in mainstream or SEND settings.

Qualifications

• Must have BSL and/or Makaton training or experience.
• Caring, patient and empathetic.
• Passionate about supporting young people with additional needs.
• Confident communicating with pupils, families and colleagues.
• Calm, positive and adaptable throughout the day.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils with communication needs in the classroom.
• Using BSL or Makaton to help students engage with learning and express themselves.
• Building positive, trusting relationships with young people.
• Encouraging independence, confidence and social development.
• Working closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to create a positive learning environment.
