Job summary

Deafblind UK is seeking a BSL Level 2 Qualified Support Worker in Stoke-on-Trent to provide person-centred support to individuals living independently in the community. The role involves assisting with personal care, meals, and daily activities, while promoting independence and meaningful community engagement.

You will work flexibly across early, late and weekend shifts (07:00–22:00), supporting approximately 2 individuals and ensuring high-quality care and safeguarding in a respectful team

Qualifications

  • Experience in health and social care settings.
  • Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities and/or complex needs.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and risk management.
  • Good IT skills and ability to complete records.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver person-centred support to individuals to maintain independence, dignity and quality of life.
  • Assist with personal care including washing, dressing and hygiene.
  • Support daily living tasks such as meal preparation and household activities.
  • Promote independence and choice in everyday life.
  • Support individuals to access the community, attend appointments and maintain relationships.
  • Provide emotional and practical support.
  • Communicate effectively with families, professionals and the wider team.
  • Follow care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures.
