Job summary

SignHealth is seeking a Specialist Support Worker (Male only) at Claridge Road, Manchester, to provide dedicated support for deaf clients with complex needs. The role involves independent living support, emotional assistance, and medication monitoring in a 42-hour week with three 12-hour shifts.

The successful candidate will have experience with deafness, be open to learning BSL, and demonstrate excellent communication skills, with prior work in supported living or residential care being

Qualifications

• Experience of working with varying degrees of deafness, including those who are culturally deaf.
• BSL or willingness to learn BSL.
• Excellent communications skills.
• Experience of working with people with learning disabilities and/or mental health conditions where diagnosis is complex and may present behaviour that can challenge.
• Experience of working in supported living services/or residential care services.

Responsibilities

• You will become a key worker to a specific client, supporting them with independent living skills, emotional support, monitoring of their medication and where appropriate maintain safety, privacy and dignity in accordance with CQC regulations and organisation policies and procedures.
