Job summary

Learning Partners Academy Trust is recruiting a Signing Learning Support Assistant to support children in the Lighthouse Specialist Centre for Deaf Children and our nursery and primary school. The role is term-time only (plus 3 INSET days) with options for full or part-time hours, including Monday and Tuesday 8:30am-3:30pm.

The successful candidate will be Level 2 in BSL, have experience with children, and assist in education and social development under teacher direction, while being well

Qualifications

• Qualified to Level 2 in BSL.
• Experience of working with children.
• Assist in education and social development of pupils under teacher direction.
• Be well organised and efficient.
• Demonstrate emotional intelligence and resilience.
• Be flexible and pro-active.
• Work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Support deaf pupils with signed communication in mainstream classes.
• Provide one-to-one or small-group teaching support across a range of subjects.
• Assist in the nursery and school setting as needed.
• Collaborate with teachers to deliver inclusive education.
