Job summary

Milk Education is seeking a Level 3 British Sign Language (BSL) Qualified Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a KS2 pupil in a Liverpool primary school (L28). You will help the pupil access the curriculum, communicate with staff and peers, and support inclusive learning both inside and outside the classroom.

The role requires BSL Level 3, prior experience with deaf/hearing-impaired children, KS2 experience, and a recognised TA qualification.

Qualifications

BSL Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) - essential.
Experience supporting deaf or hearing-impaired children in an educational setting.
Experience working with Key Stage 2 pupils.
A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a wider school team.
A patient, caring and adaptable approach to supporting children with additional needs.

Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 support for a KS2 pupil using British Sign Language.
Facilitate communication between the pupil, staff and peers.
Support learning activities both inside and outside the classroom.
Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals.
Promote the pupil's independence, confidence and inclusion in all aspects of school life.
Monitor progress and contribute to support plans and reviews.
