Job summary

Bristol City Council is seeking a Bridges and Structures Highways Inspector to join the Bridges and Highway Structures Team. You will inspect, assess, and investigate structures across Bristol's highway network, ensuring safety and compliance with national standards.

The role covers a diverse portfolio of assets including bridges, footbridges, retaining walls, culverts and related infrastructure. Applicants should have structures qualifications or relevant experience and be ready to deliver

Qualifications

• Must have appropriate structures qualifications or relevant experience with asset management.
• Experience delivering structural projects and compliance with standards is desirable.
• Experience with maritime operational moving bridge structures is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Carry out inspections, condition assessments and investigations of structures across Bristol's highway network.
• Work across a diverse portfolio including highway bridges, footbridges, retaining walls and culverts.
• Collaborate with engineers, contractors and stakeholders to maintain safety and standards.
