Job summary

Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council is seeking an Inspector in our Highway Structures Department. You will be responsible for inspections and generating inspection reports on bridges, walls and other highway structures, contributing to a resilient and well-maintained road network.

The role requires Level 2/3 in Civil/Structural engineering or equivalent, with experience in bridge inspections, strong defect detection, and clear reporting.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or 3 in Civil/Structural engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in bridge or structure inspections.
• Strong attention to defects, safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Inspect highway structures and assets.
• Identify issues and defects and document findings.
• Maintain accurate records and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with current codes of practice.
