Job summary

Amey Ltd is seeking a Bridge Engineer for our Consulting Structures Team in a hybrid role based from our Stafford office. You will work with Senior Engineers on diverse bridge schemes and guide junior staff while delivering high‑quality designs and calculations.

The position involves ownership of project delivery, collaboration with clients and suppliers, and contributing to bids within a multidisciplinary environment. A relevant degree and design software experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant subject or demonstrable equivalent learning.
• Experience in bridge structures and infrastructure projects is preferred.
• Ability to follow standards and client requirements (DMRB, Eurocodes, CIRIA).

Responsibilities

• Produce technically sound engineering designs and solutions.
• Own and support management and delivery of projects from start to finish.
• Prepare designs, calculations, drawings, and deliverables to meet quality, cost and programme targets.
• Guide and mentor junior staff on similar tasks.
• Contribute to the professional development of the team and yourself.
• Liaise with client and supplier representatives and attend progress meetings.
• Deliver activities within a local technical team and contribute to bids.
