Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking an Assistant Engineer / Engineer to deliver civil and bridge engineering projects to a high standard within time and budget. You will supervise and support junior team members while contributing to a broad range of rail and highway projects across the South West & Wales.

The role requires a MEng/MSc in Civil/Structural Engineering, relevant bridge design experience, and a willingness to develop towards chartership.

Qualifications

• MEng or MSc in Civil/Structural Engineering is required.
• Graduate ICE/IStructE membership or nearing chartership.
• Experience in bridge design, maintenance or assessment.
• Knowledge of Eurocodes or sector standards (e.g. Network Rail).
• Interest in finite element analysis and parametric design techniques.

Responsibilities

• Bridge design and related duties.
• Bridge strengthening and repair, inspections and assessments.
• General civil/structural engineering support to other teams.
• Feasibility studies and options appraisals.
• Prepare specifications, reports and health & safety risk assessments.
• Prepare fee estimates.
• Supervise junior team members.
