Job summary

Beyond Housing Limited is seeking a skilled bricklayer for our complex repairs team in Scarborough. You will perform a range of internal and external brick repairs, install lintels and groundworks, and undertake basic plastering, roofing, and joinery tasks to ensure first-time fixes.

You may mentor apprentices or volunteers; a full UK driving licence is required, and strong bricklaying knowledge is essential. The role offers enhanced tool allowances and other benefits.

Job description

We’re currently seeking a skilled bricklayer to join our complex repairs team in Scarborough. If you’ve got the experience and expertise, we’d love to hear from you!

As a vital member of our team, you’ll be responsible for carrying out a range of repairs, maintenance, and installations, both internally and externally. We’re committed to a “right first time” approach, and we’ll rely on you to uphold our standards in health and safety, customer service, and quality.

Our priority is to resolve repairs during the first visit whenever possible. To achieve this, in addition to your core trade expertise, you will be required to carry out a variety of basic repairs and maintenance tasks at a DIY level to minimise repeat visits and improve the customer experience.

Your tasks will include:

  • Internal and external brick repairs
  • Installation of lintels and groundworks
  • Basic plastering, roofing repairs, and joinery
  • Plastering, tiling, pointing, paving, drainage, concrete paths, and soakaways

You may also be asked to support the development of others by mentoring apprentices, volunteers, or work experience placements.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

  • Strong knowledge of bricklaying practices
  • Relevant legislation, and the repair and maintenance of buildings
  • NVQ Level 2 qualification in Bricklaying or have equivalent trade experience
  • A full UK driving licence is required (we’ll explore reasonable adjustments where necessary).
